POLICIES AND PROCEDURES

Please understand that these policies are in place to ensure that our staff are compensated fairly and that our students get the best quality musical instruction we can provide.

TUITION:

Lessons are booked and charged for by the month.

  • The total amount due will be based on the number of weeks in the month.
  • Tuition is not prorated for missed lessons.
  • Tuition is due on the first of each month and can be paid via electronic transfer or cash.
  • Tuition does not include the cost of books assigned by the instructor.
  • Private lessons are $35.00 per weekly in-person 30-minute lesson, $33.00 per online 30-minute lesson.
  • A Family Rate of $33.00/half-hour for in-person lessons is available to families or households taking at least 60 minutes of lessons per week.

We offer a New Student Special of 20% off the first 4 lessons when purchased as a block.

  • New students may schedule a single, first lesson at our regular rate before committing to the rest of the month. If the student decides to continue, the following 3 lessons will be prorated so that the total cost of the first 4 lessons comes to 20% off the regular rate.
CANCELLATIONS AND MAKEUPS:
  • 24-hour cancellation policy: Lessons cancelled with more than 24 hrs.’ notice will be rescheduled at the teacher and student’s earliest convenience, but any lesson cancelled with less than 24 hrs.’ notice cannot be rescheduled. We observe this rule out of respect for our teachers’ time and fair compensation. Rescheduled lessons must take place within 4 months of the date of the original, cancelled lesson. All cancelled lessons are still charged for.
  • Students are charged for every lesson in a month. However, if we receive notice before the month begins that a lesson in that month will have to be missed, we may be able to skip that week’s lesson without charging for it, circumstances depending.  Example: a lesson scheduled for October 9 can usually be cancelled entirely during September. If it is cancelled within October, it will still be charged for and will be subject to the 24-hour cancellation policy.
  •  In the event of an instructor’s absence (due to illness or performance obligations), a qualified substitute will be provided, and lessons will be scheduled as usual. Students are expected to attend their regularly scheduled lessons.
  • Lessons that fall on statutory holidays can be made up on another day. Please talk to your instructor or email us at loweschoolofmusic@gmail.com for
    scheduling inquiries.
CARE OF STUDENTS:
  • The school is not responsible for providing before or after care for students. Parents with children under the age of 8 must remain in the school lobby during the classes. Students are not to be left at the school for excessive time periods before or after their lessons.
PICKING UP:
  • Children must wait for their parents to pick them up inside our school. Please do not ask them to meet you elsewhere. Lowe’s School of Music Toronto Inc. assumes no responsibility for children who leave unaccompanied.

  • By enrolling in lessons, you grant permission for the studio to take photos and videos of our students for promotional purposes. These photos and videos may be used on our social media channels and other marketing materials. Please note that under no circumstances will these images and videos be used for direct profit, be sold, or shared with third parties.
  • If you prefer that you or your child not be photographed or recorded, please notify us in writing.
